Voice of Truth - doers of the word
I appreciate the comments and e-mails I received yesterday. Today's post is a response to some of the comments I received. James 1:22 says, "But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.". Are we being doers of the word? We are commanded to obedient to God. Back when pastor John was doing this e-mail, God began to work on my heart. I was strongly being led to do this. I did not understand why at the time, because we had someone doing it already. All along the way I kept praying about it and talking about it. I approached Andy about doing this a couple of weeks ago, with the idea of someone adding a blog. I had no idea the person adding a blog would be me. One day while studying online, God led me to a site that said "how to start a Christian web blog". Once again I realized God was telling me I needed to do something. Is God telling you that you need to do something? If He is, don't wait for someone else to do what He has placed on your heart. I hope this ministry blesses you from time to time. But I am sure that there are many ministries yet to be started. Do you have a ministry God has placed on your heart? Have you let a ministry opportunity die in your heart? Now is the time to step out and be a doer. We need faithful men and women to minister to a continually deteriorating world. If you feel you can't do it on your own, share what is on your heart with someone. Maybe, God wants that someone to be in ministry with you. Share it on the online blog. God may be placing the same vision on more than one heart. What has God placed on your heart?

Jason : Again thank you for your "Thought for Today". It was right on target and confirms how God has been speaking to me. As many are aware my family and I are going through a very difficult time as it relates to my mothers recent operation and cancer fight. During these times you start looking at how to squeeze out an additional hour of time or rearrange your schedule so you can make the Doctors appointment and or the trip to Evansville to take her for her chemo treatment.
Each and every time I started to see what I could cut out in my schedule, Satan was always first in line to look at the time I spend in daily devotions, studying for my Sunday School class, and my overall church related resposibilities. In fact a couple of weeks ago he almost had me convinced that for me to gain the additional time I need to give for the support and care of my mother is take it from my time I devote to study and my church. Then God spoke by leading me to the following scriptures Luke 9 59-60.
"Follow me", but the man replied "Lord ,first let me go and bury my father" vs 60 Jesus said to him, "let the dead bury their own, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God".
I am sure these verses apply to accpetance and salvation, but God used them to speak to me on how I should not cut out anything I am doing for Him, but to become more involved in His ministry even when we feel that there is never enough time in the day. If I am willing He will make out the schedule for me. Lets face it, we all have 24 hours in a day. No one is shorted and or have more. It is where we want to commit our time, By being Doers not just mearly hearers"
God Bless

Tom,
Thanks for the post. I will definitely be lifting your mother and your family in prayer.
